DARLENE THERKELSEN, 76
Darlene Therkelsen, 76, of Blair, died Wednesday, May 10. Services will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair. Private graveside services will be held in the Blair Cemetery.
Darlene Audrey Therkelsen was born on January 26, 1926 to Ivan and Hazel Ladd Lahner in Hazelton, Iowa. On March 1, 1948 she married Howard Therkelsen in Chicago, Illinois. They lived in Blair after their marriage and then moved to Harvard, Illinois from 1969 to 1974. They then moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, residing there until Howard’s death in 1986. In 1987 she returned to Blair.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tari and Michael Choiniere, of Blair and Nancy and Martin Halvorsen of McHenry, Illinois; four grandchildren, Marc and Rachel Choiniere and Sean and Amy Halvorsen; and a special friend, Roland Smith of Blair.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and one brother.
Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
