ALEXANDER - William (Bill), Age 85, of Blair. Survived by wife Carolee; daughter and son-in-law, Sue Neff-Richards and Jeff Richards, Blair; son Bill, Chicago, IL; 2 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter. Services 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Chapel of Good Shepard in Blair. Visitation will begin 12:00 p.m. Sunday. Family receiving friends 5-7 p.m. Further services 1:30 p.m. Monday at Norfolk United Methodist Church. Burial Prospect Hills Cemetery in Norfolk.

William B. Alexander, 85 of Blair, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair. Funeral services were Monday morning, May 1, at the chapel of Good Shepherd, and Monday afternoon at the Norfolk United Methodist Church. Interment was at the Prospect Cemetery in Norfolk.

William B. “Bill” Alexander was born May 15, 1920, in Duluth, Minn., to William and Edith (Blackwood) Alexander.

He graduated from Chokio, Minn. High School and attended McAllister College, the University of Iowa, and graduated from Peru State College.

He served in the army during World War II, serving in Northern France.

In September 1945, he married Carolee Nelson at Kansas City, Kan., where she attended nursing school. After their marriage, they lived in Kansas City, Chokio, Minn., Pittsburg, Penn.; Huron, S.D; and Norfolk.

Mr. Alexander worked for the FBI, Social Security Service, and was a social worker for the Norfolk Regional Center prior to his retirement.

He spent the last four years in Blair to be near his daughter. He enjoyed boating and camping and loved to play golf. He was a member of the Seratoma Club, Toastmasters, and Norfolk VFW. He is survived by his wife Carolee; daughter and son-in-law, Sue Neff-Richards and Jeff Richards, all of Blair; son Bill Alexander of Chicago, Ill.; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
