Mrs. Helen W. Monroe, wife of Caleb S. Monroe, lawyer, died last night at her home, 5924 Rockhill road. Mrs. Monroe was taken ill last March with influenza, which later developed into pneumonia. She was born at Blair, Neb., and came to Kansas City in 1895 and was graduated from Central High school. Mrs. Monroe was widely known as a pianist. She was a member of the Kansas City Musical Club, the Allegro Club, of which she formerly was president, secretary and treasurer and the Busch Piano club. Mrs. Monroe also was a member of the First Congregational church and was an active worker in that church. She leaves, besides her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Wadsworth, 1916 East Thirty-fifth street; two brothers, William J. Wadsworth, Oak Park, Ill.; Bert Wadsworth, Los Angeles and a sister, Mrs. David F. Hornbuckle, 5804 Virginia avenue. – Kansas City Star.
