Services Held For Carl A. Monson

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, at First Lutheran Church in Blair for Carl A. Monson, who died October 9, 1983, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 13, in Mount Hope Cemetery at Chicago.

Carl A. Monson was born January 15, 1894, in Kennard to John and Christina Poulsen Monson. He attended Brewster and Kennard Schools and graduated from Iowa State with a civil engineering degree.

He worked for the Walter Flood Company in Chicago. He moved to Blair in 1973 after retiring.

He serviced his country in the Army during World War I. He was a member of the Blair American Legion Post and First Lutheran Church.

He married Alene McGill. She preceded him in death on October 15, 1971.

He was also preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Anna Andreasen and Mrs. William (Emma) Farnberg, both of Blair; and one brother, Ernest Monson, Blair.

Pallbearers will be John (Jake) Andreasen, Dan Andreasen, Carl Paine, Gordon Soderberg and Robert Vinton.

Memorials are suggested to Blair Memorial Community Hospital or Blair Rescue Squad.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
