Alice Montgomery, 87

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 15 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington for Alice Montgomery, 87 of Arlington who died April 11, 1993 at Arbor Manor in Fremont. Rev. Michael L. Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in St Paul’s Cemetery.

Alice Montgomery was born September 29, 1905 in rural Arlington. She was a life-time resident of the Arlington area.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, the Couple Club and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of St. Paul Church.

She married Albert M. Montgomery February 22, 1931 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

She and her husband farmed north of Arlington until moving into Arlington in 1985.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert on October 3, 1992; her parents, Gottlieb and Emma Hilgenkamp Echtenkamp; two sisters, Florence Echtenkamp as an infant and Vera Laaker and one brother, Harry Echtenkamp.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dallas and Donna Montgomery of Arlington and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Laaker, Duane Laaker, Bob Dorfmeyer, Steven Marshall, Orvin Scheer and Rupert Hilgenkamp.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.

Arlington – The funeral for Alice C. Montgomery, 87, of Arlington will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington.

Montgomery died Sunday, April 11, 1993, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Alice Echtenkamp was born Sept. 29, 1905, in rural Arlington. She was a lifetime area resident. She and her husband farmed north of Arlington until moving into town in 1985.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, its ladies’ Aid, the Couples Club and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

Echtenkamp married Albert Montgomery Feb. 22, 1931, in rural Arlington. He died Oct. 3, 1992.

Survivors include a son, Dallas of Arlington; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

The Rev. Michael Rogers will officiate Thursday’s service. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington and an hour before the service Thursday at the church. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
