Dallas G. Montgomery, 60

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 30 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont for Dallas G. Montgomery, 60 of Arlington and formerly of Fremont who died December 26, 1994 at Irving Health Center in Irving, Texas. Rev. Timothy J. Gierke will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery at Fremont.

Visitation will be Thursday noon to 9 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and one hour prior to service time at the church.

The United States Flag will be folded and presented by members of Foreign Wars Post No. 854 and American Legion Post No. 20 of Fremont.

Dallas G. Montgomery was born August 28, 1934 at Arlington. He grew up at Arlington and was a 1952 graduate of Arlington High school.

He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958 and then moved to Norfolk, Nebraska. He moved to Fremont in 1960 and served again with the United States Army from 1961-19063, returning to Fremont where he lived until moving to Arlington in 1992.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont and served on several church boards. He was a past member of the Cosmopolitan Club and was on the board of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters in Omaha and Fremont.

He was a technician representative for the Xerox Corporation in Omaha for 31 years. He retired December 3, 1994.

He married Donna Galyon April 20, 1957 at Augusta, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Alice Echtenkamp Montgomery.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; four daughters, Cheryl Montgomery of Fremont; Carla (Mrs. Dennis) Purkey of Arlington; Colette Montgomery and Nikki Montgomery, both of Cupertino, California and one grandchild, Erin Montgomery of Fremont.

Pallbearers will be Roger Oshima, Gary Freeman, Maynard Franke, Jim Engelhardt, Vern Ankersen and Wayne Scheer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Miller, Wayne Thomas, Darrell Laaker, Duane Laaker, Bob Dorfmeyer and Rupert Hilgenkamp.

Memorial may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
