GORDON THOMAS, 66

Gordon Duane Thomas, 66, of rural Kennard died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Services are pending at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Omaha.

Visitation will be Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Mr. Thomas was born Nov. 10, 1931, in Carson, Iowa to Carl and Jennifer (Jones) Thomas. He graduated from the Carson, Iowa, school system and attended Omaha University in Omaha. He served in the US Navy on the USS Hollister during the Korean Conflict. On Dec. 31, 1983, he married Paula Perkins in Omaha. He was a television producer/director for KMTV and WOW-TV prior to his retirement.

He had also been a bull terrier breeder for close to 40 years.

He was a member of the Platte Valley Kennel Club; the Bull Terriers Club of America; Boy Scouts of America; and of the National Association of Broadcast Engineers and Technicians.

Survivors are his wife, Paula Perkins Thomas, Kennard; sons and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Wendy Thomas, Evansville, Indiana and Andrew Thomas, Kennard; daughters and son-in-law, Teresa Thomas and Jeanne and Tom Roubidoux, all of Omaha; grandchildren, Charles Thomas, Evansville; Alyssa Thomas, Jamie Thomas, and Marie Roubidoux, all of Omaha; and one sister, Betty Smith of Fremont.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Thomas; a brother, William Thomas; a brother-in-law, Leland Smith and his parents.

Memorials may be given to the Kennard Rescue Squad for a defibrillator and training for rescue squadsmen or to the Blair Small Animal Clinic for an ultrasound unit.
