MARGARET J. “MAGGIE” THOMAS, 18

Margaret J. “Maggie” Thomas, 18, died Dec. 22, 2002, in Honolulu, Hawaii, from a skydiving accident in which her parachute failed to open.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 W. Halleck, in Papillion.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at Heafey-Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak-Cutler West Center Chapel in Omaha.

Margaret J. “Maggie” Thomas was born Jan. 16, 1984, in Hobart, Ind., to James D. Thomas and Marilyn J. (Stanfield) Thomas. She was a 2002 graduate of Papillion-LaVista High School, and was a first year nursing student at the College of St. Mary in Omaha. She was employed as a unit secretary at Alegent Health Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.

She is survived by her son, Kaden Mumford of Omaha; mother and her fiancé, Marilyn Thomas and Phil Larkin of Blair; father and stepmother, James and Rosemarie Thomas of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Kimberly Thomas of Portage, Ind.; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Justin and Katie Thomas of Honolulu; Brandon Thomas of Corpus Christi; Douglas Jr. and Cindy Thomas, Jeff Thomas and Jack Thomas, all of Portage.
