Clark Moore, 68, Died At Fremont

Clark Moore, 68, a former Blair Pharmacist, died Saturday morning at Dodge County Community Hospital in Fremont, where he was taken Friday afternoon via ambulance after suffering a heart attack at his home in Hooper.

Born April 22, 1896 at Anthon, Iowa, he was the son of Rev. Chauncey and Ada Moore. He was a graduate of Highland Park School of Pharmacy, Des Moines, Iowa.

He served in World War I as a member of the 355th Company, with the 89th division; was wounded and received the distinguished Purple Heart Medal.

On May 20, 1918 he married Martha Splittgerber at Camp Funston, Kansas.

After the war they moved to Verdigre in 1922, and lived there for two years. They purchased the drug store at Pierce and lived there until 1945. In 1947 he purchased a drug store in Blair and stayed there until 1956, when he retired. Since that time he has done relief pharmacy work for a number of drug stores in the area. For the past three years, Mr. and Mrs. Moore made their home in Hooper.

He is a member of the Methodist Church of Hooper; a charter member of the American Legion; a member of Hooper Cornelius Tillman Post No. 18 of the Legion. At Pierce he was service officer for the Legion Post for 17 years. He was a member of the Pharmaceutical Assn.

He is survived by his wife; one sister, Mrs. George Wenk of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

The services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Hooper, with Rev. George Schwabauer of Hooper and the Rev. Mrs. C.V. Powell of Fremont in charge. Interment will be in the Hooper Cemetery with Military Graveside services.

Wollmer & Warne Funeral Home in Hooper is in charge of arrangements.
