Mrs. Sherry Moore Passed Away April 23

Mrs. Sherry Moore, who had been ill for some months, died at five-thirty Monday morning, April 23rd at the Park Hospital in Omaha.

Dolly Cruickshank was born on July 25, 1877, and would have been 68 years of age on her next birth anniversary. She was born and reared on the old Cruickshank farm in DeSoto Township and was the daughter of pioneer residents.

She was married June 12, 1905, to Sherry Moore, also of pioneer ancestry. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Omaha where they resided until 1918, when they returned to Blair where they have since resided.

Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Ruth Blanchard of Blair and Mrs. Isabelle Tilden of Honolulu. Mrs. Tilden came home some time ago, bringing with her two of the three children who were born in Honolulu and whom the grandparents had not seen. However, she was forced to return to Honolulu before her mother’s death.

Mrs. Moore’s sisters, Mrs. Bessie Marshall of Casper, Wyoming; Mrs. Jean Burnett of Medicine Bow, Wyoming; Mrs. Etta Nickerson of Red Bluff, California, and Mrs. Belle Summers of Neligh, Nebraska, also came and did all they could but nothing availed. Three of these sisters, Mrs. Marshall, Mrs. Burnett, and Mrs. Summers were present at the funeral rites held yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon from the local Episcopal church.

Besides the sisters already mentioned, deceased is survived by a brother, John Cruickshank, who is a rancher in Dakota, and Andrew, who is employed in a defense plant on the west coast.

Mrs. Moore was an active worker in the Eastern Star lodge, of which she was treasurer, and of the Wilde-Woods Circle, and has a host of friends who will greatly miss her cheerful personage.
