MRS. ADA THOMPSON BURIED TUESDAY

Mrs. Ada Thompson, long time resident of Blair and vicinity, died Sunday at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. She was 80 years old.

Mrs. Thompson was born at Chilihowie, Virginia August 1, 1886 and came to Nebraska with her family during her childhood.

She was married to William E. Thompson and for many years they farmed in the McCarthy area south of Blair. Mr. Thompson died in 1935. For several years she continued to operate the farm with her son, Ed, but later moved to Omaha where she lived for more than ten years. Returning to Blair, she lived in an apartment and moved to Crowell Memorial home a year ago.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Methodist Church in Blair with the Rev. Richard Atherton conducting the service. Burial, under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary, was made in the Blair cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by two children, a daughter, Mrs. Meredith Swanson (Frances) of Omaha and a son, Ed Thompson of Blair. A sister, Mrs. Ed Dunning lived at Decatur, Nebraska and a brother, Archie Blankenbeckler, is in the Veterans Hospital at Knoxville, Tennessee. ~~~Obituary courtesy of Nebraska Washington County Genealogical Society.
