Donald G. Moore, 68

Donald G. Moore, 68, of Fremont, died Sept. 3, 2004, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

Funeral services were Sept. 11 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Iowa City, Iowa. Interment was in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City.

Donald G. Moore was born Sept. 20, 1935, in Meriden, Conn. He was raised in Meriden and graduated from Meriden High School.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut; his Master’s degree from Northwestern University at Evanston, Ill., and did some doctoral studies at Purdue University in Lafayette, Ind.

Mr. Moore began his career by teaching others, serving as a professor of sociology, social psychology and statistics. He taught at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., from 1967 until 1972, and at Midland Lutheran College in Fremont from 1972 until 1979. He then accepted a position as a research analyst for the Nebraska State Department of Health until retiring in 1982.

He married Karen Ann Miller on Aug. 12, 1964, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. The Moores have lived in Fremont since 1972. His wife is a Title VI teacher at Arlington Elementary school.

Mr. Moore was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; mother, Corinne Moore of Southington, Conn.; brother and sister-in-law, George Jr. and Sharon Moore of Middletown, Conn.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jeanne and Ron Lyons, and Carol Soboleski, all of Southington.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorials are suggested to the A. J. Merrick Manor, Dodge County Humane Society, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, all in Fremont.

Moser Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
