CLATE THOMPSON DIED EARLY THURS. AT BLAIR HOSPITAL

Clate Albert Thompson, a resident of Blair for 37 years, died early Thursday at Memorial Community Hospital. He was 84 years of age, having been born October 22, 1887 at Bell, Missouri.

Retired for twenty years, he spent his life working in river construction. He was a civilian employee of the Corps of Engineers which was engaged in the building of river navigation and directional structures on the Missouri River.

His wife, Katie, preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons and two daughters. The sons are Percy Thompson of Blair and Stanley Thompson of Eldon, Missouri. The daughters are Mrs. Verilie Feltes of Bethalto, Illinois and Mrs. Marie Nichols of New Haven, Missouri.

A brother, Fred Thompson, resides at Bell, Missouri. There are fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are being held today (Monday) at the Campbell Mortuary with the Rev. Ray Phelps conducting the service. Burial will be made in the Blair cemetery.

Pallbearers are Dudley Sigler, Harley Thompson, Eugene Thomas, Richard Corwine, James Mathers and John Hineline.
