SERVICES AT BLAIR METHODIST CHURCH MONDAY AT 2 P.M.

Funeral services will be held today (Monday) at the First Methodist Church for Daniel (Dan) Edward Thompson, 91 years of age, who died at his farm home south of Blair Thursday.

The Rev. Dale Westadt officiated with interment in Blair Cemetery. The Rebekahs and Odd Fellows will be in charge of the services at the cemetery.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Mollie; three daughters, Grace and Edna of Blair, and Mrs. Lawrence Cook of Arlington; two sons, Howard and Earl of Blair; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Thompson was born Jan. 15, 1870, in Omaha, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson. When he was in the first grade, his father purchased a farm south of Blair and moved to Washington County.

Mr. Thompson married Mollie Blankenbeckler Nov. 1, 1899 at Tekamah. They have lived at their farm home south of Blair ever since.

He served as Moderator of the McCarthy School Board for nine years; as district road supervisor for several years; as a member of the election board for 25 years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, joining the organization 47 years ago. In November of 1960 he cast his ballot at a presidential election for the 17th time.

Campbell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers: Bernard Thompson, Glen Thompson, Ed Thompson, Elmer Cornwell, Jerry Jordan and Roy Rose.

Honorary pallbearers: Ed Natter, Jim Mullin, Rolland Smith, Fred Long, George Hedelund, Leon Hindley, Floyd Hintz, Axel Nielsen, Joe Jessen and Seymour Smith.
