#1 DUANE L. THOMPSON, 57

Duane L. Thompson, 57, of Arlington, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at the Fremont Area Medical Center after a short illness. Services were Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Duane L. Thompson was born July 18, 1942 to Vernon and Dorothy (Masters) Thompson in Fremont.

He grew up near Arlington and was a 1959 graduate of Arlington High School. After graduating, he farmed until 1970, when he and his wife started the Thompson Sod Company in Arlington. In 1975, the couple built and operated the Thompson Apartments.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. On Dec. 18, 1965, he married Sharon K. (Kubik) Thompson in Omaha. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two daughters, Vickie and Elizabeth Thompson, both of Arlington; brother and sister-in-law, Lyle and JoAnne Thompson of Bigelow, Mo.; and sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Bobbie Gorman of Marion, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Roger Thompson.

Memorials are suggested to the Fremont Area Medical Center Oncology Department.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
