EARL JOHN THOMPSON, 74

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 9 at First United Methodist Church for Earl John Thompson, 74, who died August 7, 1990 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Earl John Thompson was born November 4, 1915 on the Dan and Mollie Thompson farm south of Blair. He attended McCarthy School and graduated from Blair High School.

He married Irma French October 18, 1939 in Blair. They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary last October.

He farmed for many years, was a charter member of the National Farmers Organization and held the office of national treasurer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his wife, Irma; daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Richard Hultberg; Rosemary and Joe Chance; granddaughters, Angela, Carolyn and her husband, Larry; a grandson, Steve and his wife, Cheryl; two great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Ruie) Cook of Arlington; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
