EFFIE F. THOMPSON, 89

Effie F. Thompson, 89, of Blair, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 5, at the Congregational Church (UCC) in Blair, with interment in the Blair Cemetry.

Effie Florence Wise was born on Jan. 3, 1919, in DeSoto to Louis and Minnie (Hineline) Wise. She attended school in Kindred, N.D.

She was married to Peter Thompson, who preceded her in death in 1986.

Mrs. Thompson worked for the Campbell Soup Company in Omaha for more than 33 years, retiring in 1981. She moved to Blair in 1992. She was a member of the Congregational Church (UCC), where she was involved with Women’s Fellowship.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, Morris and Bill; sisters, Louise Wilbanks, Marjorie Waibel, Sylvia Newton, Elizabeth Thompson and Jane Larsen; brothers, George Wise, Don Wise, Walter Wise, Lee Wise and Paul Wise.

Memorials are suggested to the Congregational Church.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
