L.H. Scheibler, father of Mrs. M.M. Halbert of this city with whom he has been making his home since the first of the year, passed away this (Thursday) morning at 6 o’clock.

Deceased came to Imogene, Iowa from Pennsylvania, the state of his nativity, about forty years ago, and up to the death of his wife, which occurred last November had made that place his home. After the death of his wife he made his home for a time with Mrs. A.W. Foust, a daughter residing in Red Oak, Iowa and later came to Blair.

On last Tuesday morning he was stricken with apoplexy which was the cause of his death. At his death he was past 79 years of age and leaves five children, two boys and three daughters to mourn him, all of whom were with him when the end came.

The remains were taken to Imogene, the old home, on the noon train today, where he will be buried by the side of the wife who has already passed on before him.
