EVELYN (SUE) THOMPSON, 91

Private family interment was held Saturday, Feb. 8 at Blair Cemetery for Evelyn (Sue) Thompson, 91, who died Feb. 5, 1997. Rev. Harland Minscer and Rev. Robert Meanor officiated.

Evelyn (Sue) Thompson was born July 24, 1905 near Herman where her parents, Herman and Pauline Meierhenry Sprick farmed. As a child she attended the New England Rural School and later graduated from Blair High School.

She married Bert Thompson March 5, 1930. They worked together in their trucking business hauling livestock and grain for local farmers.

They lived just west of the New England School. She lived there until 18 months ago when she moved to Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert in 1943; her parents and a brother, Erwin Sprick.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lela Thompson; three grandsons, Craig, Mark and Scot and their families; a sister and brother-in-law, Edna “Bobbie” and Lester “Pete” Curley; a niece; three nephews and other family and friends.

Casket bearers were Craig Thompson, Mark Thompson, Scot Thompson, Duane Sprick, Erwin Sprick and Roger Sprick.

Gracie Husk was organist. Diane Sheets was soloist.

Memorials may be directed to Crowell Memorial Home in Blair or the Herman United Methodist Church.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun was in charge of arrangements.
