GERTRUD ELISABETH THOMPSON, 69

Services for Gertrud Elisabeth Klossek Thompson, 69 who died March 24, 1993 at her residence in Blair were Monday, March 29 at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Gertrud Elisabeth Klossek Thompson was born May 20, 1923 in Katowice, Germany to Paul and Elisabeth Tomalia Klossek. She grew up in Katowice and lived there until World War II began.

During the war she was sent to work in the war factories in Warsaw, Poland. After World War II, she met and married Carroll Thompson.

They came to Blair July 4, 1947, where they raised their family. She became a United States citizen July 16, 1959.

She is survived by her husband, Carroll and her children and grandchildren, Gerhart and Vesta, James and Randy; Diane Wulf , Mitchell, Brittany and Ethan; Raymond; Carroll and Tracy, Justin, Matt and Justin; Carl and Kim, Joshua, Mariah, Daniel and Chad and John and Lisa, all of Blair; two sisters, Stephanie and Clara from Poland; two brothers, Marion and Joseph from Germany and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
