Services for Blair businessman held April 20

Funeral services for a Blair businessman, Joseph E. Moore, 74, were held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Mr. Moore had been ill for some time and passed away in an Omaha Hospital on Thursday, April 17.

Father Daniel Galas officiated with burial in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair.

He is survived by his wife Marian, of Blair, and three children. They are: Mary Jo Ryder, of Modesto, California; Linda Thompson, of Omaha; and Kathleen Moore of Fort Worth, Texas.

Mr. Moore is also survived by three grandchildren and three brothers and sisters. They are: Hannah Dickerson, of San Diego, California; Katherine Schubbe, Peotone, Illinois; and Jeannette Peoples of Rose Meade, California.

Pallbearers for the services were Jack Chapman, Larry Feller, Robert Jensen, Bill Nielsen, Robert Richards and Eugene Saville.

Mr. Moore was born in Odell, Illinois on August 26, 1910. He was married in January of 1943 in Omaha to Marian Fitzsimmons. The couple resided at 1142 South 16th Street in Blair.

Mr. Moore was in World War II. The couple moved to Blair in 1953 and operated the Moore Electric firm until he retired in 1978.

He was a member of the Blair Lions Club and the Blair American Legion Post.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
