Ruth Helen Plucar, 86, of Blair died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Community Chapel in Blair. Interment will follow services in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday beginning at 2:30 p.m. with family receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.

Ruth Helen Plucar was born Nov. 4, 1927, in Blair, to Leonard T.P. and Helen E.(Antill) Munk.

Ruth was raised in Blair and graduated from Blair High School in 1945. After high school, she attended business school in Omaha.

In 1947, she married Hollis “Ray” Plucar at First Lutheran Church in Blair. The couple primarily lived in Texas and Louisiana.

Ruth was an artist who worked in the medium of oil and water-color painting and charcoal sketches. She and Ray enjoyed camping trips and attending dances together.

For the last six months, Ruth resided at Good Shepherd in Blair.

She is survived by her stepdaughter Cherie (James) Dunham of Round Rock, Texas; three grandsons; five great-grandchildren; brother Norman Munk of Broomfield, Colo.; sister Virginia Faltys of Waterville, Ohio; sister-in-law Barbara Wulf (Ervin) of Fremont; seven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray; brother Melvin; brother-in- law Robert Faltys; sister-in-law Maxine Munk; nephew Steven Munk; and niece Rhonda Kiddes.

Memorials may be directed to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair.

FUNERAL SERVICES at 11am Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community Chapel in Blair. Burial in the Blair Cemetery.
