MAE M. THOMPSON, 85

Mae M. Thompson, 85, of Blair, died Friday, July 24, 1998, at Crowell Home in Blair.

Services were Monday, July 27, at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery. A prayer service and P. E. O. was Sunday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Mae M. Koopman was born Aug. 13, 1912 in Blair to William and Mae (McCormick) Koopman. She graduated from Blair High School and attended one year of nursing school.

On Dec. 23, 1932, she married James C. Thompson at Stanton.

She worked for Dr. Knee, the B & C Shop, Klopps Jewelry and the City of Blair.

She was honored in August of 1994 as the only living 75-year member of First Methodist Church. She had received the Layperson of the Year Award. She had sung in the church choir for 50 years.

She was a member of P. E. O. Sisterhood Chapter EQ.

She is survived by her husband, James; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sharon Thompson of Blair; two grandchildren and their spouses, Paula and Mike Betzold of Highlands Ranch, Colo. and Steven and Julie Thompson of Dallas, Texas; one great-grandson, Joshua; and one brother, William Koopman of Spruce Pine, N. C.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mildred States and Frances Murdock.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair was in charge of arrangements.
