MRS. DAN THOMPSON DIED WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Dan Thompson, a long-time resident of Washington county, died suddenly at her home Wednesday night. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Mrs. Thompson, prior to her marriage, was Mollie Victoria Blankenbeckler and she was born at Chilhowwie, Virginia, August 16, 1879. She was 84 years old.

She came to this area many years ago and was married to Dan Thompson, the couple farming in the McCarthy area south of Blair, all of their married life. Mr. Thompson preceded her in death.

She is survived by five children, three daughters and two sons. The daughters are Mrs. Lawrence Cook (Ruie) of Arlington; Grace Thompson of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Edna Thompson of Blair. The sons are Howard and Earl Thompson, both well known in the county. Sisters are Mrs. Ada Thompson of Blair and Mrs. Ed Dunning of Decatur. A brother, Archie Blankenbeckler, is at Veteran’s Hospital, Knoxville, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. at the Methodist church in Blair. The Rev. Dale Westadt will conduct the service and burial will be made in the Blair cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary. The Royal Neighbors and the Rebekah Lodges will have a part in the services.
