Services for Paul Thompson, 81 of Blair who died July 23, 1996 at his Blair home will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 26 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair.

The Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Paul Michael Thompson was born October 6, 1914 in Blair to Michael and Lilly Boston Thompson. He attended the Cuming City and Blair Schools.

He farmed in the Blair area and later worked for Blair Manufacturing and Korshoj Construction.

He served in the Army during World War II. He was in the African, French, and German campaigns with the 636th Tank Destroyer battalion. He was a member of the Blair Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin sister, Mary Burns; sisters, Elise Bunch, Carrie Hineline, and Bertha Kruse; brothers, Pete Thompson, Joe Thompson and Albert Thompson and a grandson, Jason Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Dolly; a sister, Madeline Whitney of Omaha; a brother, Bernard of Blair; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Byron Peterson, Margie and Shawn Reeh and Linda Fitch, all of Blair; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Karen Thompson of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Steven and Sangdow Thompson of Pearl City, Hawaii; Pat and Lana Thompson and Don Thompson of Blair; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
