Mrs. P. Mordhorst Rites May 15th

Mrs. Peter Mordhorst, of the southern part of this county, passed away at the St. Catherine’s hospital in Omaha on May 12th, following an extended illness of several months.

She was born in Germany on Dec. 5, 1892 and when two years of age the family came to America and for a long term of years the family have lived in the Bennington vicinity in Washington county. She grew to womanhood here and received her education in the district school.

As Maggie Kroeger, she was married to Peter Mordhorst on August 5, 1913 and they at once settled on a farm in the Dornacker school district where the family still resides. Six children were born to the, Mrs. Richard Muller of Bandon, Oregon; Herman, Esther and John at home; Mrs. John Riekan of Elkhorn and Harry of Omaha.

Besides the children already mentioned and the bereaved husband she leaves seven brothers and two sisters to mourn her death.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 15th at Bennington and interment was made in the German cemetery.
