Ray F. Thompson Jr., 52, of Blair, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Ray Frank Thompson Jr. was born Nov. 11, 1956, in Blair to Ray Sr. and Lola (Hineline) Thompson.

Many knew him from his places of employment at Jack ‘n’ Jill, Loyal’s and Hinky-Dinky where he returned after a short stay at naval boot camp in 1975.

He enjoyed listening to the Beatles albums, and traveling with his family, especially to St. Louis, Mo., the home of his favorite team, the Cardinals. He will be well remembered for his unique ways of making people laugh.

He is survived by his father, Ray Sr.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lisa and James Gould of Wichita, Kan.; Brenda Thompson of Blair; and Dawn and Russell Steffen of Blair; brother, Kent and his fiancée, Amanda, of Kingston, Okla.; grandmother, Leona Plambeck of Blair; eight nephews and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Memorials are suggested to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of Keith and Carol Thompson.
