TAMMY THOMPSON

Funeral Services were held for Tammy F. Thompson at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bennington, Nebraska on Saturday, February 22 at 10 a.m. Dr. Norman Schroeder officiated. Miriam Sukraw was organist and the vocalist was Ken Sukraw. He sang “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” and “How Great Thou Art.” Interment was held in the Prospect Hill Cemetery of Elkhorn. The Hadan-Golden Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Todd and Russell Roche, Mike and Jeff Crom, Scott Calloway and Russell Christensen.

Tammy Faye Thompson was born December 21, 1965, at Omaha, Nebraska. She was baptized into the Christian faith at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Valley, Nebraska. Tammy attended school in Elk City. She enrolled in the catechetical classes and confirmed her faith at St. Johns October 3, 1982. She continued participating in faith and worship at St. Johns.

In May of 1985 Tammy graduated from the Arlington High School. She entered the work world and was employed in the bank credit card section of First National Bank of Omaha. She was pleased to have employment and was very happy with her job. It was while she was on her way to work early Wednesday morning that she lost her life in an automobile accident She died at the age of 20 years, one month and 28 days.

She will be remembered in many fine ways, particularly as a smiling, warm, caring, loving young woman. She was a special gift to each one who knew her. Tammy had an appreciation for music and enjoyed horses.

Tammy is survived by a loving family which included her mother and stepfather, Demaris and Wilbur Christensen of Valley, Nebraska; father and stepmother, Robert and Barbara Thompson of Omaha; fiancé (to whom she was engaged) Todd Roche; two brothers, Dan Thompson of California and Mark Thompson of Valley; one sister, Tina Thompson of Valley; two step-brothers, Russell Christensen and Don Cernelic; two step-sisters, Kim and Debbie Cernelic, Becky Bozzo, Renae, Shelly and Rae Dee Christensen; grandmothers Emma Thompson of Valley and Charlot Schopen of Omaha; a great-aunt, Eva Weeks of Lyons, Nebraska; other relatives and numerous friends.
