Former County Nurseryman Died In Wyoming Walter A. Morgensen, 87, of Casper, for many years the floral superintendent of the Central Wyoming Fair, died at his home. Mr. Morgensen had been a patient at the Converse County Hospital, but had come home for Christmas.

Born May 15, 1892 in Spiker, Nebraska, his family moved from Spiker when he was nine-year-old to Arlington, Nebraska, where he was reared and educated.

He attended the University of Nebraska and business college in Omaha. He married Minnie Terwilliger on September 24, 1916 at Denver. They farmed for ten years at Byers, Colorado, and moved back to Arlington where Mr. Morgensen worked for the Marshall Nursery. In 1939, they moved to Casper. Mr. Morgensen established the Morgensen Nursery in 1945 and was active until his retirement in 1974, at which time he sold the business.

He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Casper Lodge No. 15 AF&AM, Wyoming Council No. 1 R&SM, Commandery No. 8 KT, and Korein Shrine at Rawlins and the Casper Shrine Club.

He is survived by a wife, Minnie; one son, Morres P. of Casper; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Aaker of Stockton, California; and three granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren.
