Edna A. Bartling, 91

Former Washington County resident Edna A. Mrs. Bartling, 91, died Nov. 15, 2004 at the West Point Living Center in West Point.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Interment will be at 1 p.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, located east of Winslow.

Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held Friday at the church, one hour prior to services.

Edna A. Bartling was born May 23, 1913, in Arlington to Herman and Anna (Beugholt) Gieselmann. She grew up in rural Arlington and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School.

After her marriage to Friedrich “Fritz” Bartling on Jan. 24, 1937, in Arlington, the couple farmed near Herman. The Bartlings moved to Fremont in 1966. Mrs. Bartling had been living in West Point since September of 2002.

Mrs. Bartling was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at West Point, and was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Ivan and Dianne Bartling of Wildwood, MO., and Arlan and Barbara of Ormond Beach, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Lila and Dennis Jahnke of Bancroft; sin-in-law, Lorin Woltemath of Pender; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fritz, in February 1992, daughter, Marian Woltemath; three infant children; grandson, Dana Lee Bartling; four sisters, Martha Flake, Elle Gieselmann, Nora Franke and Elsa Greunke; five brothers, William, Edward, Martin, Paul and Walter Gieselmann.

Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran School, Fremont; Immanuel Lutheran School, Winslow; or Zion Lutheran School at Bancroft.
