Victor Bartlett Dead

Victor Bartlett, a resident of Blair for the past seventeen years and well known in and around here, died at his home on west Washington Street on last Sunday morning as the result of a paralytic stroke.

This was the second stroke the deceased had suffered, the first occurring one year ago last June and from which he never entirely recovered.

Mr. Bartlett was born in Omaha, Nebraska. Sept. 20, 1865 where he lived until he was about a year old when his parents moved to North Bend Neb., and it was in this latter place that he was reared to manhood.

He was married to Miss Flora A. Head, of North Bend, on Dec. 17, 1890 and to his union twelve children were born, nine of whom are still living and who with his wife and two brothers mourn a devoted father.

Mr. Bartlett was considered by those who knew him as a hardworking, quiet and industrious citizen and in his line of work was one of the best.

The funeral services were held yesterday at 2 p. m. at the Christian church, Rev. Warren officiating.

Sudden Death of “Vic” Bartlett

The death of Vic. Bartlett, the well-known Blair painter, occurred last Sunday at 12:30 a. m. A year and a hall' ago he had a stroke of paralysis which left him in a helpless condition for the better part of a year but for the past several months he had been able to operate a wheelchair and frequently came up town. He suffered a second stroke last Saturday after¬noon which resulted in death, as above stated. Deceased was 50 years old and leaves a wife and nine children, the eldest a married daughter.

Funeral service was held at the Christian church at 2 o’clock p. m., Tuesday, Dec. 21st. Rev. Frank Warren officiating, and burial in the Blair cemetery.
