STUART THOMSEN, 44

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 3 for Stuart Thomsen, 44, of Uehling who died Tuesday, July 30, 1996, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha from injuries he suffered in an industrial accident at ValMont Industries in Valley Tuesday afternoon. The services will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont.

Thomsen was born Feb. 16, 1952. He was raised in the Arlington area and graduated from Arlington High School in 1970.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda; daughter, Sara and son, Peter, all of Uehling; brothers Jay Thomsen of Arlington and Jim Thomsen of Torrington, Wyo.; sisters Miriam Landberg of Temecula, Calif.; and Natalie Wachholtz of Newberg, Ind.; stepbrother, Don Pittman of Arlington; stepsister Carol Boies of Arlington and father-in-law and mother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Orville Kollars of Arlington.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.

Services were Saturday, August 3 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont for Stuart D. Thomsen, 44 of Uehling who died July 30, 1996 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha following a work related accident. Rev. William L’Heureux of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hooper officiated. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Graveside services were conducted by Hiram Lodge No. 52 A.F. & A.M. of Arlington.

Stuart D. Thomsen was born February 16, 1952 at Fremont. He grew up at Arlington and was a 1970 graduate of Arlington High School. He attended McCook Junior College in McCook, Nebraska and Wayne State College at Wayne, Nebraska.

He lived in Fremont for 10 years after his marriage to Brenda Kollars August 19, 1972 at Blair. They then moved to Uehling.

He had been a maintenance mechanic at Valmont Industries at Valley since 1971.

He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hooper; the Lions Club at Uehling; the Uehling Volunteer Fire Department; Logan View Booster Club; was a past Master and member of Hiram Lodge No. 52 A.F. & A.M. of Arlington; a member of Friendship Chapter No. 122 Order of Eastern Star at Hooper. He coached a Jaycee Midget Football at Fremont; Little League Baseball at Uehling and assisted with Logan View Junior Wrestlers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Thomsen.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; a son, Peter Thomsen of Uehling; a daughter, Sara Thomsen of Uehling; his mother, Elois Pittman of Arlington; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay and Linda Thomsen of Arlington; and James P. and Debbie Thomsen of Torrington, Wyoming; two sisters, Miriam (Mrs. Gary) Landberg of Temecula, California; and Natalie (Mrs. Gene) Wachholtz of Newburgh, Indiana; a step-brother and step-sister-in-law, Don and Cheryl Pittman of Arlington and a step-sister, Carol (Mrs. Jerry) Boies of Arlington.

Pallbearers were Mike McDowell, Charlie Parr, Bob Tatum, Dave Monke, John Ray, Don Huwaldt, Steve Moseman and Fred Milburn.

Honorary pallbearers were Mark Coates, Gary Charter, Joe Strauss, Jim Brandt, Tim Palensky and Jim Thomsen.

Memorials may be directed to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Uehling Lions Club and the Logan View Junior Wrestlers.

Moser Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
