ELMER THONE DIED LATE FRIDAY

Elmer Thone, well known farmer of the vicinity southwest of Herman, died late Friday afternoon at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha. He had been hospitalized for several months.

Mr. Thone, a member of a pioneer Washington county family, was 71 years old. He had been a farmer and a resident of Washington County all of his life.

He is survived by two sons, Elmer L. Thone, Jr., and Dr. James Thone, both of Blair. A daughter, Mrs. Ida Widger, lives at Wauneta, Nebraska. There are nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were pending as the Pilot-Tribune was printed Saturday noon. A complete obituary will appear in next Thursday’s issue of The Enterprise.

His wife, Edna, preceded him in death. A brother, Clarence Thone, lives at Herman.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the First Lutheran Church in Blair with the Rev. George Pallesen conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Howard Williamsen, Fred Gregerson, Merle Ward, Pete Nohrenberg, Howard Kubie and Kenneth Pence.
