Funeral services for Gwen Thone, 73 of rural Blair who died at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha Sunday, November 11, 1990, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church. A prayer service will be held 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.
Gwendolyn H. Johnson was born October 14, 1917 at Blair, Nebraska to Annie Christensen and Harry T. Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard and graduated from Kennard High School in 1935.
She married Elmer Thone in May, 1950 at Blair.
She retired from the Thone Veterinary Clinic in 1984, having worked there for 15 years.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Blair V.F.W. Auxiliary.
One grandson, David Roesch, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer; one daughter, Gail (Mrs. Daniel) Roesch, LaHabra, California; one son, Gary Petersen, Omaha; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Geraldine (Mrs. Kenneth) Jensen, Blair.
