Dr. James O. Thone, 73 of Blair, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.
Services will be Wednesday, Dec. 8, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. A Masonic service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7.
James O. Thone was born Sept. 27, 1926 to Elmer L. and Edna (Mathews) Thone in rural Herman. He attended the Thone School and graduated from Blair High School in 1943. He received his pre-med education at Dana College, and graduated from Veterinarian School at Iowa State in Ames, Iowa.
In 1950, he married Leona Christensen.
He was a member of Landmark Lodge # 222 and all bodies of the York Rite and Shrine. He was also a member of many civic organizations in Blair.
He is survived by his wife, Leona; three sons, Brent and Dennis, both of Blair; and John of Fredrick, Colo.; two daughters, Sarah (Mrs. Donald) Jensen of Blair; Lisa (Tripp) Bohanan of Fort Calhoun; four grandchildren, Kristy and Heidi Bohanan; and Adrienne and Chelsey Jensen; and one sister, Ila (Mrs. Orville) Widger of Wauneta.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Elmer.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
