FLORENCE MAE THORNAM, 95

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 8 at First Lutheran Church for Florence Mae Thornam, 95 who died January 5, 1993 at Good Shepherd Home in Blair. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.

Florence Mae Thornam was born September 17, 1897 to Pete and Ida Sorenson in Iowa. She lived and worked all her childhood life on the farm.

She married Hugo Thornam in April, 1919 after his return from World War I. They farmed and she helped with the milking and other farming chores until they retired from the farm in 1953 and moved to Blair.

She also worked in restaurants as a cook and later was an employee of Memorial Community Hospital, working in the laundry and diet kitchen before her retirement.

She was a charter member of the Eldeen Club and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Fort Calhoun.

She entered Good Shepherd Home in March 1984, one year after the death of her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hugo and one brother, Carl.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Jeanette of Northglenn, Colorado; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Irene and Albert Suverkrubbe of Fort Calhoun; four grandsons and their wives, Gary and Candy Thornam, Ronald and Chris Thornam, all of Thornton, Colorado; John and Susan Stout of Buckeye, Arizona; Jessie and Vicki Stout of Omaha; three great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; one sister, Clara Peterson of Culver City, California and many friends.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
