HUGO THORNAM TO BE BURIED

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, at First Lutheran Church for Hugo Thornam, 94, of Blair who died at Crowell Home January 2, 1983.

The Rev. Carl Schattauer, Jr., will conduct the services. Burial will be in Forest Lawn in Omaha.

Hugo Thornam was born in Copenhagen, Denmark to George and Fannie Ericksen Thornam on October 9, 1888. He came to the United States when he was 16 years of age. A veteran, he served his country during World War I from June 29, 1918 until January 23, 1919.

He farmed until 1953 in the Blair area and then moved to Blair. He then worked for the City of Blair.

He married Florence Sorensen April 16, 1919, in Omaha. She survives.

One daughter, Mrs. Albert (Ruth) Suverkrubbe, Fort Calhoun; one son, Harold Thornam, Omaha; four grandsons, Gary Thornam, Thornton, California; Ronald Thornam, Omaha; John Stout, Buckeye, Arizona; and Jesse Stout, Omaha; and three great-grandsons also survive him.

Clare Cowing is the organist and is providing the vocal music.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
