Muriel J. Morrison, 81, died on Oct. 22, 1988 at her home in Blair.

Muriel was born on April 14, 1907 in Tekamah as the daughter of George W. and Laura L. (Hampton) Morrison. Muriel attended school in Tekamah.

Muriel Morrison worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell in Tekamah. She started to work for Hunt Telephone in April of 1929 and retired in 1972 as chief telephone operator.

Muriel Morrison was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Jay Morrison; and by two sisters, Ruby Welch and Goldie Nelson.

She is survived by two sisters, Ella Ackerman of Tekamah and Mildred Rutledge also of Tekamah; a brother; William J. Morrison, Sr., of Omaha; and many nephews and nieces.

Services for Muriel Morrison will be held today, Oct. 25, at the First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Dr. Howard Bailey will officiate the service and Karen Gengenbach will be the organist.

Burial will be in the Tekamah Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Campbell Funeral Home in Blair.
