Bessie Morse, 82

Services for Bessie Morse, 82, were held on Saturday Nov. 26, 1988.

Bessie died last Wednesday following an automobile accident earlier in the day.

Bessie was born in Tama, Ia., on June 15, 1906, to Charles and Ella Mae Robeson. Bessie and the family later moved to McAllen, Tx., where she graduated from high school in 1924.

The Robeson family came to Blair alter that year and operated the Clifton Hotel. Bessie was a music major at Dana College and on Nov. 26, 1926 married Merritt E. Morse from New Haven, Ct.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron, a member of Chapter H. L. of P.E.O. and the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Charles Morse of Manassas, Va.; two daughters, Virginia Boesen of Spearfish, S.D. and Betty McMillan of Wingdale, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Graydon Robeson of Tama, Ia., and Scott Robeson of Blair.

The Saturday funeral service was held at the United Methodist Church with Dr. Howard Bailey officiating. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were handled by the Campbell Funeral Home in Blair.
