Mrs. Nels Mortensen died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. Andreason, in the Orum neighborhood, yesterday morning of old age, being almost 80 years old. She hadn’t been sick but was quite old and feeble. She simply laid down on the couch and slept, and while sleeping was “gathered with the fathers.” The funeral will be held tomorrow at the Danish church at Orum, Rev. N. P. Lang, of this city, officiating. Burial will be made in the Orum cemetery. Miss Clara Larsen was born in Sweden, Jan. 28th, 1835 and came to America in 1869. She was married to Joseph Paulsen in Omaha in 1872 and they settled on a homestead where they lived until his death in 1886. Of this union three daughters were born, Mrs. R. Andreason, Mrs. C. Benson and Mrs. P. M. Toft, all of Orum neighborhood. Three years after her husband’s death she was married to Nels Mortensen and after his death in 1892 she lived on the old place until four years ago when she went to make her home with Mrs. Andreason.
