Services for George Tibbetts, age 89 of Blair who died August 31, 1994 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair were Saturday, September 3 at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Graveside services were held in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Omaha.

George E. Tibbetts was born May 27, 1905 in Des Moines, Iowa to James B. and Gertrude Harter Tibbetts. He had lived in Nebraska for the past 38 years.

He worked for the Coca-Cola Company for 40 years, retiring in January of 1970. He was special markets manager and field supervisor for the Omaha district and Kansas City Region.

He joined the company as a fountain salesman in Sioux City, Iowa. He later worked in Des Moines, Lincoln and Omaha. He also was a district sales manager in the St. Paul district and later the Des Moines District in the Minneapolis Region. He became a special markets manager and field supervisor in 1955.

He was a member of the Blair Masonic Lodge No. 21; was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years and had been presented the Jordan Medal in the Washington Lodge. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and Tangier Shrine in Omaha, the Mo-Ri Shrine Club and Blair Fraternal Order of Eagles.

On November 18, 1955, he married Martha Sundquist Simpson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Surviving him in death is his wife, Martha; two stepsons, Wayne Simpson, Lincoln, Nebraska; and James Simpson, Omaha, Nebraska; and three step-grandchildren.
