SERVICES HELD ON SATURDAY FOR WAYNE TIBKE

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 20, at 1:30 p.m. at Arlington Community Church for Wayne G. Tibke, 43, who died at an Omaha Hospital Wednesday, December 17, 1980. Rev. Gerald Senn conducted the services. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery.

The Omaha Fire Division Honor Guard was in attendance at the services.

Wayne G. Tibke was born February 7, 1937 to Harry and Ethel Thilliander Tibke in Omaha. He lived in Omaha until moving to Arlington about five years ago. He was an Omaha Fire Engineer with the Omaha Fire Department and was a member of Arlington Community Church. His death followed an accident in which a tree fell across his chest. He had been cutting tress down near Washington, Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife, Janis D. Furber Tibke; and four daughters, Mrs. Bill (Lori) Wolf, Arlington; and Karen Tibke, Lynn Tibke, and Connie Tibke, all living at home. His mother, Mrs. Harry Tibke, Omaha; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Wanda Tibke, Omaha; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive him.

Mrs. Alvin Voss was organist for the services. Mr. Gene Gnuse sang “Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling” and “Sunrise in Heaven.”

Pallbearers were Gary Finnell, Jim Lewis, Ronald Backmann, Norman Kyle, Ron Christensen and Stan Vachal. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Markey, Roy Brown, Harold Glandt and Robert Goldsmith.

A memorial is being established in his memory.

Rozanek and Son Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
