FRED “FRITZ” TIEDJE, 85
Services for Fred “Fritz” Tiedje, 85 of Bennington who died June 8, 1993 were Friday, June 11, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington. Burial was in the German Cemetery.
Fred Tiedje was born on the home place in rural Bennington August 23, 1907. He attended Grau School with his sister, Anna and brothers, Herman, Henry, George and Art.
HE spent his life farming. He was a blue ribbon winner at fairs. He also assisted auctioneers at farm sales whenever possible.
He is survived by his sister, Anna Tiedje of Bennington; his brother, Ernest “Art” Tiedje of Omaha; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bill Heise, Marvin Heise, Lyle Mohr, Mike Smith, Claus Tiedje and David Tiedje.
