LEROY HENRY TIEDJE, 64

Services for LeRoy Henry Tiedje, 64 of Bennington who died March 5, 1992 were Sunday, March 8 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn. Rev. Mark Fry officiated.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin L. Tiedje.

He is survived by his wife, Jean M., Bennington; sons, Verlin K., Wallace, Nebraska; and Claus H. of Blair; daughters, Connie Sealock-Daniels, Washington; Corinne Brown, Omaha; Chari Bessey, Valentine; sisters, Lois Petersen, Bennington and Evelyn Novotny of Omaha; a brother, Melvin of Omaha; nine granddaughters and nine grandsons.

Memorials may go to Bennington Rescue Squad or Bethany Lutheran Church.

Hadan Golden Mortuary in Bennington was in charge of arrangements.

LeRoy Henry Tiedje was born April 15, 1927 on a farm near Bennington to Claus and Kate Sass Tiedje. He was the oldest of four children. He was baptized and confirmed in 1946 as a young adult at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington.

He attended District 43 country school. After grade school he stayed home and helped his father farm.

He married Jean Dein March 19, 1949 in Arlington. They settled on various farms around the Bennington area, all within five miles of where he grew up farming and dairying together.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Kevin LeRoy.

He is survived by his wife, Jean M., Bennington; his children, Connie Jean Sealock-Daniels, Washington; Verlin Karl, Wallace, Nebraska; Corinne Joan Brown, Omaha; Claus Herman of Blair; and Chari LeAnne Bessey, Valentine; two sisters, Lois Peterson, Bennington and Evelyn Novotny of Omaha; a brother, Melvin of Omaha; nine granddaughters and nine grandsons.
