MRS. M. TIETSORT DIED NOV. 28th

Mrs. Myrtle Tietsort of Kennard died November 28th at 7:25 o’clock at the Dodge County Hospital where she had been a patient for the past three weeks.

Mrs. Tietsort, as Miss Myrtle Weed, was born in Ohio on December 17, 1873, and when she was about three years of age the family moved to this county where for several years they farmed. Later, they moved into Kennard where the father held the postmastership for a number of years.

Deceased was married July 4th, 1900, and of the family four children remain. The husband died some years ago. The children are Mrs. Hazel Surgate and Claar Tietsort of San Diego, California; Mrs. Verona Greene of San Francisco, California; and Mrs. Walter Dietiker of San Gabriel, California. Four grandchildren also survive.

Besides the members of her immediate family, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Newton Gaines of Lincoln; Mrs. Emily Clark of Fremont; and one brother, Walter Weed of Omaha.

Deceased was a devoted member of the Christian Church of Blair and also a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans of Fremont and of the D.A.R. of Blair and also of the W.C.T.U.

Another of our old settlers and of old settler stock has thus passed on. Slowly but surely, Father Time is robbing us of these fine characters, but it is nature’s way.

The funeral was held last Sunday in Kennard and was largely attended by the friends of the family. Interment was made in the Kennard cemetery.
