Nancy A. Howard Tietsort was born at Lockport, New York, Nov. 23, 1835, and passed away at Omaha, Neb., Dec. 14, 1915. She was married to Lemia Tietsort Sept. 5, 1857 at Cassopolis, Michigan. Eleven children were born to this union, eight sons and three daughters, six sons and two daughters with one brother survive her. The brother, Francis Howard, lives at Cheboygan, Mich. The sons, Delbert of Woodbine; Henry of Randolph; Melvin Perry and Alvin of Scottsbluff were present at the funeral, also a grandson and daughter and the latter’s husband of Omaha; two granddaughters of Missouri Valley; and a grandson, Logan. George, a son, and Mrs. Compton, a daughter, living in Omaha were unable to be present on account of sickness. Mrs. Widner, the other daughter, is a resident of Kennard. Rev. Stoner conducted the funeral at the Methodist church last Friday, a number of old friends being present to pay their last respects to a splendid old lady. Mrs. Tietsort was 80 years and 21 days old at the time of her death and had left here only five weeks ago after visiting her daughter and old time friends for a month. She was present at an Aid gathering the day before she left and was the jolliest member of the crowd. Everyone joins in sympathy with the bereaved ones who will miss a kind and indulgent mother.

The death of Mrs. Nancy A. Tietsort occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Etta Compton, in Omaha, December 14, 1915 at the ripe age of 80 years and 21 days.

Nancy A. Howard was born at Lockport, N.Y., Nov. 23, 1835; married to Lemia Tietsort Sept. 5, 1857, at Cassopolis, Mich. Eleven children were born to this union, eight of whom are living, six sons and two daughters. Deceased was a resident here for many years and was loved by all who knew her. The funeral was held here on December 17 and burial in the Kennard cemetery. Five of her sons, Delmar of Logan, Ia; Henry of Randolph, Nebr and Richard, Nicholas and Alvin of Scotts Bluffs and one daughter, Mrs. Bertha Widner of Kennard, were in attendance at the funeral, George Tietsort and Mrs. Compton of Omaha, not being able to attend.
