Harry Mortlock And Wife Killed In Georgia Crash

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mortlock, residents of Marshall, Texas, were killed early Tuesday in an automobile crash near Buford, Georgia, The Enterprise has been informed. Mr. Mortlock was known by many of the older generation in Blair.

The details of the accident are not known.

Mr. Mortlock was born at Blair 82 years ago. He was married to Phyllis Carrigan, a daughter of Judge and Mrs. E. R. Carrigan and a sister of the late Mrs. Gifford Dixon. Mrs. Mortlock preceded him in death and he was married again less than a year ago.

Mr. Mortlock was a Civil Engineer and for many years was associated with the Federal Agricultural Department. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska. Following World War II he went to Japan as a civilian employee of the United States Army, serving in an engineering capacity. While there he was involved in an automobile accident in which he lost an arm.

Upon returning from Japan Mr. and Mrs. Mortlock lived for a time in Blair. They lived at 1767 Colfax street in the home now occupied by the Bob Tichota family.

The Enterprise is informed that the bodies will be returned to Marshall, Texas, where they will be interred.
