M. Louise Nelson, 63, of Albany, Oregon, died August 1, 1987, at Albany General Hospital.

Funeral services were held August 5, 1987, at Fisher Funeral Home, with Rev. David P. Nolte officiating. Burial was in the Palestine Cemetery.

She was born September 2, 1923, at Tonkawa, Oklahoma, to Carl and Capitola (Mead) Hitchcock, and lived in Liberal, Kansas, until she moved to Silverton, Oregon, in 1964.

In 1965, she moved to Salem, Oregon, and in 1975, moved to Albany, where she had lived since.

On August 10, 1957, she married John W. Nelson in Ratone, New Mexico. He survives.

Other survivors include daughter Pamela Realph of Blair; son William Nelson of Albany; son John M. Nelson of Albany, and daughter, Marci Nelson of Salem; mother Capitola Hitchcock of Enid, Oklahoma; brother Dr. Carl Hitchcock of Aurora, Missouri, and seven grandchildren.

She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Liberal, Kansas, past secretary of the Hoover School PTA in Salem, and past secretary of the Salem Little League.

Memorials are suggested to the Special Olympics.
