Miss Mary Nelson Died In Omaha Tuesday, Sept. 4th

Miss Mary Jeanette Nelson, long-time resident of the Ft. Calhoun Community, passed away at Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, on Sept. 4, 1973.

She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nelson at their farm home southeast of Ft. Calhoun in the Coffman neighborhood on Febr. 24, 1891. She lived with her brother Arthur on the home place until his death in 1951. A new home was built in Ft. Calhoun and she moved there in the fall of 1951.

Miss Nelson was a member of the Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian Church, the Ft. Calhoun Woman’s Club, and the Dundee Book Club in Omaha. She also belonged to other social groups.

Feeling approaching need of nursing care, she purchased an apartment at Sky Line Manor, Omaha, in the spring of 1972, having a very happy residence period there until her illness caused her to enter the Clarkson Hospital on August 30, 1973.

Burial services were conducted at Crosby Kunold Burket Mortuary on Sept. 6, 1973, by the Rev. Keith Sackett of the Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers were: Bill E. Stratbucker, Waldo Kruse, Paul Slader, Edward Lorenzen, Olaf Kaer and Stanley Ohrt. Burial was in the family plot at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha.

Survivors are a sister, Anna Peterson of Fremont and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Frank Nelson of Blair and other relatives and friends.
