MIKE BARRY DEAD

The funeral of Mike Barry was held Monday morning at 10:30 from the Catholic Church, the services being in charge of Father O'Drisscoll who was assisted by Father O’Sullivan of Fremont and Father Collins of Omaha.

Mr. Barry had been in failing health for some time and about four weeks ago was taken to Omaha for treatment. Later he was removed to Lincoln and placed in the hands of a specialist who pronounced his ailment a very acute case of Bright’s disease and held out no hopes of a recovery. On Friday evening Mr. Barry passed away and the remains were brought to Blair the following evening.

Deceased was born in Dundas, Canada, in 1851, and came to Washing¬ton county with his parents when two years old, his folks settling in the southeastern part of the county where Mike grew to manhood and married Miss Mary Money in 1880.

With his young wife he moved on a farm southwest of Blair and by thrift and industry became the possessor of over 400 acres of the most valuable land in the county.

Besides the wife there are eleven children who survive him and mourn the loss of a kind and indulgent parent. He was a devout Catholic and had many friends in this community who join the Democrat in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.

Among those from abroad who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Birmingham of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Aspinwall of Council Bluffs, Mr. and Mrs. James Maney and Lizzie MacMahon of Benson, Mr. Ryan of Florence, Mr. and Mrs. McCarthy and George Fitzgerald of Omaha, and Mrs. MacMahon and Miss Clara of Lincoln.
